Griddle plate would not hold an even temperature — one end scorched, the other barely browned. A failed thermostat on that section. Replaced, then checked across the plate with a surface probe.

Induction zone kept cutting out mid-simmer. Turned out to be a cooling fan choked with cabinet dust, not the generator board. Honest about it when he could easily have sold us the board.
